After travelling through Europe in the early 2000s, owner Luke Hill found his passion for arboriculture after being trained by his uncle who owned a tree surgery in Oxford, UK. He worked in the industry around Western Europe before returning back to the South West to continue his career back in 2008. Upon his return, Luke was one of the first professionally trained arborists in the area and identified a gap in the market for tree work that put a care for the local trees and ecosystems as a priority. Taking a leap of faith with a rusty Land Cruiser and a couple chainsaws, Luke began his own venture (most often with his trusty sidekick, his dog Wilson). Growing organically from word of mouth and repeat business alone, Luke built Naturaliste Tree Care into the full operation that it is today.
Naturaliste Tree Care offers an unparalleled level of service in the region, emphasising sustainable practices, local ecosystems as well as assisting local community groups too. The team of eight arborists are professionally qualified or apprentices in training at TAFE, and always stay up to date with changes in the industry. Their ethos is all about minimising their footprint, but maximising their output.
The team regularly assist with local landscape groups including FAWNA, Yallingup Coastal, the Dunsborough and Margaret River community gardens, and the Margaret River Nature Conservation. They also recently completed a woody weeds project for Geo Catch, and helped build a tree house for the Yallingup Steiner School among other projects.
